From Concept to Container: How OEM Works
Our structured OEM process ensures your custom welding equipment is delivered on specification, on budget, and on time. Typical timeline: 4-8 weeks from design approval to shipment, depending on customization complexity and order volume.
Design & Specification
You provide your requirements: brand colors, target market voltage, performance specs, and any special features. Our engineering team creates technical drawings and a specification sheet for your approval. This phase typically takes 5-10 business days and includes up to 3 revision cycles at no additional cost.
Sample Production
We build 2-5 pre-production samples with your branding, custom panel layout, and target specifications. Samples are tested on our production line against your spec sheet. Photos and test data are shared with you. Optional: we ship physical samples via air freight for your in-market evaluation (typically 5-7 days transit).
Testing & Certification
Samples undergo full quality testing: burn-in testing at rated duty cycle, hi-pot electrical safety testing, arc stability measurement, and thermal imaging of internal components. If your market requires certification (CE, CSA, etc.), we handle the compliance documentation — or coordinate with your chosen test lab.
Production & Shipping
Once samples are approved, full production begins. Each unit undergoes individual testing before packaging. Your branded packaging, manuals, and warranty cards are included. We handle export documentation, container loading, and can coordinate with your freight forwarder or arrange shipping on FOB/CIF terms.

How to Start Your OEM Welding Machine Project
1. Initial Consultation
Contact our OEM team with a brief description of your project: target market, product type (MIG/TIG/stick/plasma), estimated annual volume, and any special requirements. We respond within 24 hours with a preliminary assessment and questions to refine your specification.
2. Specification & Quotation
After understanding your requirements, we provide: detailed technical specification sheet, sample cost breakdown, estimated tooling costs (if any), production timeline, and shipping options. No obligation — the quotation phase is free and typically takes 3-5 business days.
3. Sample Approval & Production
Upon order confirmation and deposit (typically 30% for new OEM projects), we enter the 4-phase process: Design (5-10 days) -> Sample (10-15 days) -> Test (5-7 days) -> Production (2-4 weeks). You approve samples before full production begins. Balance payment due before shipment.
Frequently Asked Questions About OEM Welding Machine Manufacturing
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for OEM welding machines?
Standard MOQ is 20 units per model for basic OEM (branding, color, panel design). This is designed to let you test the market without large inventory commitment. For more complex customizations (custom transformers, IoT modules, etc.), MOQ may be 50 units. Trial orders of 5-10 units are available for existing standard models before committing to a full OEM run.
Do I own the design and tooling for my OEM product?
Yes. If you pay for custom tooling (molds, panel templates, custom transformer winding specifications), those tools are yours. We will not use your custom tooling to produce products for other customers. For OEM projects using our existing platform with your branding, there is typically no tooling cost — only the per-unit customization charges. Design ownership terms are specified in the OEM agreement before production begins.
Can BrightWelding handle certification for my target market?
Our standard product platforms are already CE-certified (EN 60974-1) and CSA-certified (CSA C22.2 No.14). For markets requiring additional certifications (GOST for Russia/Eurasian Union, SABS for South Africa, SASO for Saudi Arabia, etc.), we can either provide the technical documentation needed for certification or coordinate with accredited test laboratories. Certification costs and timelines vary by market — we will provide a clear estimate during the quotation phase.
What kind of warranty and after-sales support do OEM products include?
All OEM welding machines carry the same 12-month warranty as our branded products. We provide: (1) spare parts supply from stock with 48-hour dispatch, (2) technical documentation in your language, (3) remote diagnostic support via video call, and (4) repair training for your service technicians. Extended warranty options up to 24 months are available. After-sales support is provided directly to you — your end customers interact with your brand, and we support you behind the scenes.
How is intellectual property and confidentiality handled?
We sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before discussing detailed specifications. Your customer list, pricing structure, market strategy, and custom product specifications are treated as confidential. We do not sell OEM-branded products to other customers in your territory, and we do not use your custom designs for other clients. A mutual NDA is standard practice before any OEM engagement begins.
What is the typical payment structure for OEM orders?
Standard payment terms for new OEM partnerships: 30% deposit with order confirmation, 70% balance before shipment (against copy of shipping documents). For established OEM partners with order history, we offer 30% deposit / 70% against documents, or T/T 30 days for qualifying accounts. We accept T/T (wire transfer) and Letter of Credit (L/C at sight) from major banks. Payment terms are negotiable and documented in the OEM supply agreement.
